Mark Mcharg is a professional drum tutor based in Kettering, Northamptonshire. With globally recognised teaching credentials, he became a Drumsense tutor in 2008 and went on to become a Drumsense Master Tutor in 2013. Mark also holds a Licentiate ( Level 6 ) in music teaching, specialising in drum kit. Mark currently has over 120 students on the books, and teaches drums in several schools in Northamptonshire. In recent years, he has also been the sole teacher of many accomplished young drummers , one of which that has made it to the finals of 'The Young Drummer of the Year UK ' competition for three years running. This showcases the best young drumming talent in the UK. In addition to his teaching , Mark has performed all over the UK and overseas with a wide variety of musical acts from rock trios to big band orchestras, and also been involved with various sessions and other educational projects one of which with legendary UK drummer Steve White.
Mark is honoured to have been an adjudicator for the drums section, for the last two years at the ' Rockfest' competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia . He has a fully equipped soundproof teaching studio, with 2 full professional drum kits and P.A. equipment . DBS and MU registered. Ambassador for Roland electronics and an Artist for Vater drumsticks . Mark is also an International Music Examiner for Rsl Awards.
